and here we have June.....

As you may have noticed... I am little behind on my blog.  It is overwhelming to think about blogging about the whole summer, so I will just start one month at a time.  Here goes a brief report of our summer.   I know there a great many others out there who are also very behind on your blogs. Like maybe a whole year. (you know who you are) .  If I can do this you can too.
We celebrated Kamree's Birthday. The best part about having an 11 year old is that they are old enough to make their own birthday cake and plan their own party. She did a great job don't you think?
She had friends over for a hot dog/marshmallow roast and night games.  They had a great time.
We spent the first two weeks of summer trying to have a campout in the back yard.  We started on the last day of school, but then the winds came up during the night and we had to go inside.  Then we tried it again a few days later and the winds came up again.  By the time the weather cooperated, Kamree and I had become professional tent setter uppers.   She will probably be the only one at girls camp next year that can put up a tent all by herself. (and ours is a complicated one)
Kamree's 1st piano recital. She did great and had her song memorized. She just couldn't wait to get out of there and get to her Softball game. That is of course, a little more her style.
We also enjoyed some good times just playing in the yard.

We had two weeks of swimming lessons. This was great to get this done in June because the class sizes were small and Kelton and Kolby were the only ones in their class.

We watched a lot of baseball

Kamree moved up to an older league this year.  She has a June birthday so she was basically the youngest one on the team.  It was definately a little more challenging this year but she did great and was the catcher for most of the season.
We had cousins come for a visit

Kelton says cousins are friends that live far away.

We went to a historical home show in Oakley.  It was very cool to see all the homes built by the pioneers still standing and in such great condition.   They are beautiful and I am amazed at the architecture skill they were able to accomplish back then.  To think they did it all without power tools.

This is the entryway to a bedroom.  The girls thought this was so cool.

Aubree loved that all the bedrooms had their own porches.

In front of the David B. Haight home.  This one was immaculate and in perfect condition.   This home is similar to the Howells mansion.  The Howells mansion was built by my great great grandfather Benjamin P. Howells whol also built the Howells opera house that is still being used in Oakley.   The current owner of the Howells  mansion didn't want to be part of the home tour so we didn't get to tour that home.

Now... We will see how long it takes me to get July on here.  Hopefully within the week.
